In this new workshop, learn about the basics of linocut printing.
Looking for a new creative skill, a reason to gather with creative folks, and learn a printing process you can do from home? Then this Linocut Basics workshop is for you.
In this workshop, you will discover the basics of linocut printing to create prints on paper, fabric or wood. We will explore how to prepare positive and negative images, transfer your design to a lino block, get into the groove of carving and create a lino block stamp, and create your own prints. Participants also have the option of taking home a mini-linocut kit to continue their print adventures.
All are welcome, no art-making experience is required.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
This workshop is an introduction to linocut printing and is open to all creative levels. Whether you are a seasoned artist or someone who is looking to gain a new skill from scratch, we welcome all!
ARTIST FACILITATOR
Part of the Possible Worlds team, Isabella Di Stefano is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Ottawa. She studied Fine Art at the University of Guelph and is now continuing studies as a teacher candidate at the University of Ottawa, pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Studio Art. She works primarily in collage, painting and printmaking. She has a wealth of experience facilitating workshops in which she fosters an accepting and encouraging community. She hopes to inspire others through collaborative learning and wants to devote her practice to making art accessible.
WORKSHOP FEE
To make this workshop as accessible as possible and to increase opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the arts, we're offering different options of participation fees. The amount you choose to pay goes to our facilitators and operating the space.
